果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 Syllabus Database
As many members of 果冻传媒app官方's Faculty Network teach courses centering on freedom of expression and many others are interested in studying the issue further or teaching such courses themselves, FIREwas inspired to create this syllabus database. We hope that it will serve as both a valuable reference tool and a means of networking faculty.
This database is a work in progress that will be updated as new syllabi are added, and FIREmay add new features to it as the collection of syllabi grows larger and more diverse. Here are some tips for using the database in its current version:
- The syllabi are currently split into four categories: Humanities & Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Law, and Other. The 鈥淥ther鈥 category frequently includes specialized course designations that may be specific to a particular institution (e.g., 鈥淗onors Seminar,鈥 鈥淔irst Year Experience鈥). These courses are often interdisciplinary as well, defying standard categorization.
- Currently, the database can be filtered according to whether courses are designed for undergraduate or graduate students, as well as by their category. We may add additional filtering capabilities as the database grows in size and diversity.
- The entries in the 鈥淒epartment鈥 column reflect university departments as they are labeled at the university where a specific course is taught.
- Light redactions are made to each syllabus to remove contact information for instructors and teaching assistants, as well as any information that may reference individual students.
- All syllabi in this database are volunteered by the instructors themselves, and FIREwill not add syllabi to this database without their consent.
