Just in before the end of the school year, the Harvard community has now got something to look forward to over the summerāa new ā$50 million initiative to address the dearth of female students and faculty in the Universityās science departments.ā A reported yesterday that the the new initiative, which includes the creation of a ānew senior administrative post to spearhead an increase in the hiring of female and minority faculty,ā and other programs to support women and underrepresented minorities.
I wonder if any of this would have come about if President Larry Summers had never made his infamous remarks last January.
