Anthony Dick to chair 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 board of directors
Anthony Dick has been elected as the new chairman of 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 board of directors.
Dick is a Washington, D.C.-based attorney who focuses on constitutional, appellate, and complex civil litigation, and has worked on high-profile First Amendment cases. He has also been affiliated with FIREsince its early days.
鈥淚t is a great honor to become 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 next board chairman, where I will work hard to follow in the fine example set by my distinguished predecessors,鈥 Dick said.
Dick was unanimously elected at last week鈥檚 annual board of directors meeting, as outgoing chair Daniel Shuchman completed his term and retired from 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 board.
鈥淒aniel Shuchman was a phenomenal chairman,鈥 Dick said. 鈥淗is tireless efforts helped FIREbecome stronger and more effective than ever in its mission of defending individual rights on our nation鈥檚 campuses, and his leadership will be sorely missed.鈥
Shuchman was unanimously elected as board chairman in 2015, when FIREco-founder Harvey Silverglate retired from the role.
鈥淚t has been a great pleasure and honor to have been 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 chairman and to have served on its board of directors for so many years,鈥 Shuchman said. 鈥淚t is a testament to 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 entire team, and to Greg Lukianoff鈥檚 leadership, that FIREhas become the most important civil liberties organization in America. Anthony has been a leading board member and is professionally engaged in constitutional law and litigation. I am confident he will be a great chairman and help ensure 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 continued success.鈥
FIRE President and CEO Greg Lukianoff praised 果冻传媒app官方鈥檚 growth during Shuchman鈥檚 tenure.
鈥淚 would like to thank Daniel for his service to FIREover the past 11 years,鈥 Lukianoff said. 鈥淒aniel鈥檚 leadership during the period marking the largest organizational growth in FIREhistory is deeply appreciated. I look forward to his continued counsel as an informal adviser.鈥
Lukianoff praised Dick鈥檚 election as board chairman, noting that Dick begins his term with more than a decade of institutional FIREknowledge.
鈥淎nthony started his relationship with FIREas one of our most beloved summer interns way back in 2002, when FIREwas very young,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t seems only fitting that he should become the chairman of the board today.鈥
